About the Evrika Foundation
A classic public-benefit foundation founded in 1990. Independent, non-political, and non-religious — dedicated to Bulgaria's future through science and innovation.
Who we are
A classic foundation — a non-governmental, non-religious and non-political organisation, a legal entity under Bulgarian law, operating for public benefit.
The Evrika Foundation was established in 1990 by state and public organisations with the aim of supporting gifted children and young people in carrying out projects in science, technology and management; backing young innovators and entrepreneurs; spreading scientific, technical and economic knowledge; improving the material base for scientific and technical creativity; and supporting training, specialisation and international cooperation in science and technology.
The Foundation's funding comes from income on its assets, donations, and income tied to its programmes.
Over its 35-year history, the Evrika Foundation has awarded scholarships or supplements to 3,025 students and pupils, helped 2,124 young people participate in international scientific forums and specialise at prestigious research centres and companies, and organised and run 1,378 events — competitions, championships, conferences and schools for children, pupils, students, young scientists and specialists.
In 2025 the Foundation maintained its broad portfolio of activities: grant funding, scholarships, support for young innovators and entrepreneurs, consulting, information services, publishing, support for scientific and technical events, and projects in partnership with other Bulgarian and international organisations.

„Evrika“ activities and initiatives in 2025
In the past year alone the Evrika Foundation has:
- paid scholarships to 50 students and pupils who won, through competition, named scholarships, scholarships from targeted donations, and scholarships for medallists from the international olympiads in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and biology;
- supported the running of 52 major scientific and technical events for children and young people at home and abroad, plus another 12 editorial, educational and scientific-information projects;
- provided free consultations to young people under 35 through specialised offices in commercial and contract law, the legal status and relations of non-governmental organisations, intellectual-property protection, and information technology;
- organised, on its own and together with partners, educational, scientific and innovation projects for young people, among them:
- National science and technology events for age groups grades V–VII and VIII–XII, together with the National Palace of Children;
- National competition „Space — the present and future of humankind“;
- Pupils' Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, together with the „Sts. Cyril and Methodius“ International Foundation, the Union of Mathematicians in Bulgaria, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at BAS, and the America for Bulgaria Foundation;
- National competitions in aircraft, car, ship and rocket modelling for pupils, together with the National Palace of Children;
- National competition „Nature — our home“ for pupils, together with the National Palace of Children;
- Joint project with the Municipal Centre for Extracurricular Activities of Dolna Mitropolia Municipality to hold „Astro Party Baykal’2025“;
- National competition for pupils' projects in ecology and environmental protection „Srebarna“, together with the National Palace of Children;
- Youth science session for pupils and students „Physics and the World of Technology“ within the 53rd National Conference on Physics Education, together with the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria;
- Sixteenth international competition for computer drawing and collage „Creativity without Borders“ Haskovo’2025;
- Youth forum „Science, Technology, Innovation, Business — 2025“, together with the non-profit association „Territorial Organisation of Scientific and Technical Unions with a House of Science and Technology — Plovdiv“;
- National youth eco-forum „For a Clean Environment and Sustainable Development“, together with the Sofia Vocational High School of Electronics „John Atanasoff“;
- Publication of the children's science-and-technology newspaper „Technitarche“, together with the National Polytechnic Museum;
- Maintaining a permanent column „Young Researchers“ in the magazine „The World of Physics“;
- Joint project with the National University Centre for Creativity and Innovation (NUCCI) at Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ to hold the festival „The Ideas That Change the World’2025“;
- Joint project with the National Polytechnic Museum on „Robo-LeGoTech — the next generation of inventors“;
- Joint project „Eureka! Successful Bulgarians!“ with Bulgarian National Radio, „Hristo Botev“ programme;
- Exhibition of inventions, technologies and innovations — ITI’2025, together with the Union of Inventors in Bulgaria;
- National competitions for achievement in science and for best young manager, inventor and farmer;
- Jubilee scientific conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Evrika Foundation;
- Joint project with the Scientific and Technical Union of Construction in Bulgaria to hold the Youth Scientific Conference with international participation „Design and Construction of Buildings and Facilities“ DCB’2025;
- Joint project with the „University for Children“ Foundation on „Career guidance in the natural and technical sciences at lower-secondary level“;
- Joint project with the „SOS Children's Villages Bulgaria“ association on „Creators of the Future. Careers Fair: Engineering, Science, Crafts and Stars“;
- Joint project with the „Milen Grigorov“ Foundation to hold the competition-exhibition „Youth Technical Creativity’2025“ (MTT’2025);
- Joint educational STEM project with the „Vale“ Computer School at the „Zarya-1858“ community centre — Haskovo on „From the spark of an idea — to the world of technology with micro:bit!“;
- Joint project with the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Plovdiv University „P. Hilendarski“ on „Physics — Engineering — Technology“;
- Participation of Bulgarian representatives in the World Youth Science Expo ESI’2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE;
- Participation of Bulgarian pupils in the „Research Science Institute“ programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (RSI’25);
- Joint project with Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ to hold the academic conference „Creativity and Innovation — Dimensions of the Future“;
- Joint project with the Pupils' Institute of BAS at the BAS Training Centre to provide mentors/consultants for ten small learning-and-research communities at the Pupils' Institute of BAS;
- National Student Mathematics Olympiad (NSOM’2025);
- Joint project with the „Vega“ Astronomy Club, Kardzhali, to hold the Summer School in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Informatics „Beli Brezi’2025“;
- Joint project with „Vasil Levski“ High School, Sevlievo, to hold the National Festival „Science on Stage — 10“;
- Joint project with the Institute of Space Research and Technology at BAS to hold the Second Youth Session at the International Conference „Space, Ecology, Safety“;
- Joint project with the „European Kangaroo“ association to hold the Jubilee International Scientific Conference „Synergetics and Reflection in Mathematics Education — SREM 2025“;
- Joint project with Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ to hold the series „NUCCI Lectures“ on significant achievements, the realisation of ideas and bold innovation.
Statute of the Foundation

History
The Evrika Foundation was established in 1990 by state and public organisations with a clear purpose — to support talented Bulgarian children and young people in science, technology, engineering, economics, and management. In 2025, the Foundation marked 35 years of consistent and sustainable work with a jubilee scientific conference.
Mission
The Foundation operates as a classic non-governmental, public-benefit organisation under Bulgarian law. It is independent of political and religious influence and channels its resources fully toward developing the country's intellectual potential.
